Amy Burton

Managing Lawyer

Amy is our Managing Lawyer. Her main areas of practice at Everyday Justice are credit & debt, financial abuse and wills/estates. Prior to joining the team, she was a Senior Associate at Salvos Legal Humanitarian, where she provided pro bono legal representation to vulnerable clients in the areas of migration and refugee law, criminal, care and protection, family, housing, debt and employment law. She regularly represented victims of modern slavery and advocated for legislative and policy reform in the area. 

In 2017, Amy was awarded ‘Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year’ at the Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards. In 2018, Amy was awarded a John Monash Scholarship which allowed her to undertake her Masters of Law at Georgetown University in Washington DC. During her studies, she researched practical strategies to improve access to justice for the ‘missing middle’, including through the use of ‘low cost’ law firms. Upon her return to Australia, she worked as a legal consultant on a project to review Australia’s access to justice landscape and possible strategies to make civil legal services more accessible to Australia’s missing middle.

Lauren Stubbs

Associate Lawyer

Lauren is our Associate Lawyer. Prior to joining the team, she worked as a solicitor at Legal Aid NSW in various specialist teams within the Civil Law Division. Her main areas of practice include housing, discrimination, employment, administrative law and victim/survivor of abuse matters. Lauren is an experienced public interest litigator and has represented vulnerable clients in a range of Tribunals and Courts across Australia. 

In 2022, Lauren was listed as a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly 30 under 30 awards in the Probono/Community Lawyer of the Year category.

Glen Falkenstein

Associate Lawyer

Glen has dedicated his professional career to furthering access to legal justice. Before joining Everyday Justice, Glen worked in Justice Connect - Not-for-profit Law, in NSW Parliament as a policy analyst and as a legal advocate for persons seeking asylum in Australia and Nauru. Glen completed a postgraduate law and a social research degree at the University of Technology Sydney, with semesters at the Tulane University Hague campus, where he placed first in his class. 

Glen has a background in journalism and web innovation, and has held senior roles in the not-for-profit and community sector. Glen is undertaking his Master of Laws at UNSW, specialising in Corporate, Commercial & Taxation Law and Media, Intellectual Property & Technology Law.

Aleena Akram

Lawyer

Aleena is a dedicated Pro Bono Lawyer at Everyday Justice. Her primary areas of practice include domestic and family violence, family law, financial abuse, human rights, and wills and estate (including estate litigation). Before joining Everyday Justice, Aleena worked as a litigator at a national firm where she led with compassion and empathy while fiercely advocating for her clients.

Aleena’s unwavering commitment to social justice and passion for human rights is evident through her extensive work with charities, non-for-profit organisations, and government & advocacy bodies. In 2024, she was chosen to intern at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Amman, Jordan, furthering her dedication to advocating for vulnerable communities.

Aleena was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of NSW in October 2021 and to the High Court of Australia in June 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Laws, majoring in Public Policy and Governance from Macquarie University and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law (NSW).

Clare Robertson

Lawyer

Clare is a dedicated Pro Bono lawyer at Everyday Justice, focusing on providing fair outcomes and solutions for pro bono clients. Before joining Everyday Justice, Clare gained valuable experience at the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission, where she compassionately assisted people impacted by gambling.

In addition to her legal career, Clare has a rich background in music, having played with Regional, State, and Australian orchestras while she completed her studies. Clare was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Victoria in May 2023. She holds a double degree in Arts and Education from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Queensland University of Technology.  Outside of work, Clare stays active with interests in water polo, touch football, and following the AFL.
